D and DS mode

What is the difference between D and DS mode?

From what i know, D shifts gear automatically, but when I touch my paddle shifter, for a period of time, It becomes semi-automatic mode

If i switch to DS directly from D, without touching the paddles, it still switch gears automatically, is there there a difference? in response?

DS will shift your car at a higher rpm. it will also read your gas pedal response in reaction that you willl step on the gas and hold the gear longer
