engine knocking

engine knocking

08 g37, my car always has engine knocking (the motor is hot and ususally happened when the car is stopping). i went to two different infiniti dealers, one dealer they told me that is motor oil problem ( changed the oil ), still same problem, the other dealer told me they cant find out the problem, can some one help me out, thanks

my car had this problem since 3000 miles.

keep pushing them to fix the problem... if they can't find the problem call the Infiniti customer hotline, report your problem and demand a new engine or car. If they make attempts to fix the problem and it doesn't work then your car may be lemon.

make sure you are using the right kind of gas. do not use 91 or less. i had the same problem with my truck before. hope this works. let us know what happens.

^What if 91 is the highest availible in your state? I dont have knocking though, so I dont know what his prob could be.

I only put 91 octane gas for my car, i already made the 3rd service appt. with infiniti next week, i will mention ECM issue to them <--- thx SOLISIMO.

I have this same issue, I think a lot of people do too. As I'm driving the car for a while and come to a stop it makes that knocking noise. The TSB did originally fix it, but as soon as I switched from ester oil to full synthetic the noise came back. I'm not paying $125 per oil change to not hear the knock, so as long as it isn't doing any damage then we're good.

Most of the fix is coming from the oil, not the ECU reflash.

im sorry, i meant do not use less than 91. i use 91 on mine too. my mistake. guess its not the gas then.
