Short version is I brought my 08 g37 auto in for some routine service.a problem I have been dealing with is ds mode.when the car gets hot it will not go into ds mode.now I am explaining this to service advisor who just looks at me like deer in the headlights.says I quote"what is ds mode,I have no idea what you are talking about."I really thought he was trying to make a joke or be sarcastic.then he calls me to tell me "ds mode will not engage at certain rpm's".I told him "the car can go into ds mode at anytime,at any speed,no to mention from a dead stop"I feel like driving the loaner at like 120 and have someone snap a pic while in ds mode.I can't believe this guy makes his living at this dealership.I mean ds I'd in everything infiniti sells since 07.how do I explain to this noob what ds is so my car gets fixed.

 

What is ds mode? Is that an auto thing? I wouldnt know, because I have a ***** and drive a manual.

To the OP, call the Service manager and talk to him. If he doesn't know what it is go to the general manager. It is ridiculus that they would not know what DS mode is. That is almost as bad as the guy who posted that the dealer did not know if he would have a 7 speed transmission in the car he ordered.

 

service advisor doesn't know what DS is!! haha my Salesperson thought 4WAS = AWD which was why the 08 5AT had "insane" take off like the GTR

 

 

I would have said...DS stands for dip sh¡t. Then taken it to a different dealership

 

^ yea but it's not the dealer I have a problem with, they are putting in front rotors & brakes for free (goodwill repair) and my car is 2yrs old & has over 20K on it.

I sent an email to service manager asking how can he fix my car if he has no idea what I am talking about. Its not like it some complicated problem. car does not go into DS mode now fix it.

as far as any 6speeds wanna talk smack ill let my car do the talking. A nice launch out & see ya. I have 325whp, from my auto so any sticks that can top that??? come back when you TT it, then talk.

 

Should have got a stick, you would have the DS problem. BTW the only mods you have is an intake and exhaust.

as for your service advisor op, ouch. ive been through 2-3 of them already so i know how you feel. thankfully my new advisor and service manager are pretty competent so i only deal with them as well as the head techs for my g. talking to the general manager will be a waste of time as they know even less about the cars usually. go to the service manager and explain your issue.

yea i drove a red auto when the car was still weeks from release and i did the 'ds' mode and didnt really know what it was, but the guy was totally clueless about it as well. im like jeez arent you supposed to sell me this thing?
