G37 Transmission Issues with 4th -> 3rd Downshift
Most likely. They seem to have started producing them with the fixed code sometime early this year, before the ITB was even released here.
We just took our Car in for the 4th time about the 20mph jerky upshifting and the downshifting was almost like someone was slamming on the brakes!! The first 3 times they either told us we were nuts or that it was just the way the car was redesigned to make it more gas efficient! This time the tech looked at it and installed "new firmware" After reading the blog, I am going to go back and see if we have gotten it all.
It now feels like a new car and is a dream.. The best part is when we asked why they they aren't recalling them , or at least doing this on all the G37x's when they come back in for service they a said "why should we".. Infiniti should be ashamed of themselves..
It has made such a difference.. The way it used to downshift was dangerous!

I just bought my 09 G37S 7AT a couple of weeks ago so I am still breaking it in. I printed the TSB for this issue. Should I take it in to the dealer and show them the TSB to verify that my car has the latest firmware?
Do you feel a problem when slowing down? If not, there is no reason to do anything any way.
2009 G37S 2WD AT: I had ITB09-032 installed on Jan 19 2010. It made an immediate difference. Less engine breaking, less harsh downshifting, and the flaring seemed to improve. But all three are still there, just less often. And the first few weeks seemed unusually great, but then it started happening more often (not as much as before ITB09-032, however). As some have pointed out, it seems to flare more often and more severely after I drive a while, then the car rests for a while (like at dinner), and then on the way home it will flare at least a few times.
I suggest people migrate to this thread regarding the flare issue: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...-shifting.html ("Flaring" is when the engine RPM quickly and unnecessarily goes up before a shift occurs.)

Do any 2010 cars have this problem? I have a 2010 g37x coupe and so far I've only been driving it in manual mode and upon slowing down the 4 to 3 shift is very strong. I haven't tried it in d mode yet. Does this mean my car has this issue too?
I "think" I have this problem. I will have dealer look at it when I goes in for the first free oil change.
The software fix has been applied at the factory before it was ever released to the delaers to fix our cars. That was sometime in spring of 2009.
