Another update:

"In speaking to my friend he told me that although his factory issued car (09 G37xS) does not have a shifting issue he decided to update his software and he has noticed allot of the little "bugs" associated with the RE7 are resolved with this software update.

On a positive note, the new adjustable logic should make resolving issues in the future a matter of getting someone to alter the adaptives and send us (dealer personal) the files to load into your car. However as with any new addition it will take them some time to perfect the structure around it. If there were a way for us to report incidents to request an inquery or software update that would be perfect but that may be a little way down the road. At this point I have to harrass my contacts within the company and ask for information.

As for a date for the release of the reflash for the Re7 I do not have a date, but the information is out there and will soon be reaching your dealer. I will pass on the bulletin number once I get it. I'm not sure how your dealer will take it if you walk in there with a bulletin number and requesting an update but since it will be relevant to your concern I think all parties involved will benefit.

I haven't noticed any flares, but my car hasn't been broken in yet, only 200 miles right now. What I have noticed is that when the car is slowing down around 30mph and it down shifts a gear, there will be a noticeable lurch. I'll probably have it checked when I change oil around 1200-1300 miles.

Excellent. I hope it doesn't take too long for the update to be distributed. I can't imagine what is happening is good for the car.

I have the same issue with my Sedan. I have spoken to the Infiniti Rep about it but she has no information at this time. She said there may be a bulletin coming out to address this issue and the downshift issue, but she does not have any other information at this time. I have been told by the Infiniti technical people that they have found that this is not causing any damage to the inner workings of the transmission. I checked ASSIST today, but there is still no new updates for the transmissions.

New TSB
ITB09-032 its a reflash for the TCM

IF YOU CONFIRM: An Applied Vehicle has a harsh 4-3 downshift while coasting at 30-20 MPH, with closed throttle condition. Engine braking may also be felt under the same driving conditions. ACTIONS: 1. Refer to Step 2 in the SERVICE PROCEDURE to confirm this bulletin applies to the vehicle you are working on. 2. If this bulletin applies, reprogram the TCM. See this bulletin for further detail.

Talked to may contact and said it SHOULD work for this issue as well......

Then after the stop sign...i get up to maybe 20 before the next stop sign. Then after that stop...I get up to 50 or so...and I barely notice it. So...its something that goes away quickly.

Seems to be something that happens to a "warmish" car.

I haven't been to the dealer since new, but they're installing my spoiler next week. I'm going to make a list of these issues.
Hey Mike,
Forgot to ask, did you bring it up with the dealer and what did they say?

Yup, just released this morning. Called my dealer this morning and they are aware of the TSB but don't have the instructions for it yet.

Your contact thinks this will TSB will also cover the "flare" issue as well? That would be great. I've also noticed the 7AT is inconsistent in its last downshift say from 2 to 1. Like...the rpms are at 1K as your almost stopped and its just not smooth like every other automatic I've ever driven..LOL.

Thats for the research. I'll wait a few weeks and hit up my dealer.

Yup, he says it should fix all the issues with the 7AT, also allows for easier shift programming in the future.

I am going to setup an appointment next week to get the upgrade done. Hopefully they'll have time to work on it.
