FI HFC installation

Hey my HFC are almost here and im scared of popping any CEL on my dash or break the o2 sensor. Baton rouge is pretty small so there barely any modding and even if there is. it is only on honda and other brand like that. Every shop that i go to always refuse to work on my car or say they wont warranty it saying that im the first G they ever work on with installing aftermarket parts. Exhaust and springs were fine cause they dont really have sensor or any problem with them but when it comes to HFC and all the horrifying story about CEL and o2 breaking i wont let anyone touch it unless they have install it on the G already or know what they are doing.

My question is does anyone know anyone that has already install HFC on there car or has a good rep that i can drive to. My driving distance is anywhere that would install it 4 hours from baton rouge. also after i get a good answer i will delete this thread so it doesnt take up space.

Clear Lake Infiniti in Houston. They did mine. If they break anything or mess it up, they will make it right for you. You also have the added bonus of being able to take it back to your dealership if a problem develops because the work was done by an Infiniti dealership. At least I think so. Call CLI and speak to Sean in Service, tell him Jeremy (the black guy who gets pissed of you wash his G37) sent you. The more aftermarket work they get, the more likely they will be to do other stuff.

Not that you'd want to pay dealership rates ($110/hr here in CT), but they did tell me they would install a HFC for me - I don't think they know the laws fully, but oh well... one place you could try.

ps - two thumbs up on the girl in your pic!!

I would rather pay dealership labor rates ($100/hr here) and have the work done by trained competent professionals (usually ) with the right tools and parts than save myself $40-$60 and take it somewhere less reputable that will have your car disabled if they break your O2 sensor or snap off the bolt in the manifold. Dealerships will take full responsibility fr any issues if they screw something up. Not that an independent mechanic won't, but for me that peace of mind was work the extra $50 or so.

+1 on the avatar chic.

correct me if im wrong, but i thought at the memorial park meet, you said the install didnt go 100% smooth from CLI. If i remember right, they did broke a bolt or o2 sensor on yours but replaced it for free, obviously. not trying to bash as this is the place i will take mine. just sayin that as they install more, its seems less likely anything would go wrong. would be perfect timing for me to let alan get his installed and we find out how it went.

That is exactly correct my friend. The did break the O2 sensor and had to replace it. That's why I know they will make it right. He didn't have to even tell me about it but he did.

The dealership will have the sensor in stock or be able to get it quickly if they screw it up. And I also agree with your point about them doing more and more of them so as to be more familiar with the part and the process. I think SubSurface took his there too for install, he can chime in if this is correct or not.

I should be getting commission toward free labor for the business I'm directing toward them.

i might go up there. when i do i might arrange a meet haha. Seeing they got parts in stock, they would just be able to replace. also alan getting his done too so they will be familiar. screw my dealership. they are so lame and they dont install it and they even say if i do install it that they would void my warranty automatic
