Maybe the rasp is from the high flow exhaust gas making the metal piping resonate. So when it's wrapped up tightly, there is no room for the metal to move/resonate, and no rasp.

I think you'll have to make it a WAV/MIDI file or something similar and load it up to youtube. I don't think youtube accepts DVD files.
