TT G37S 6 speed OR TT G37X coupe (09 AWD)

If you had the option to turbocharge a g37s 6mt rwd or the new G37x coupe (AWD) which one would you choose? Thanks for your time.

If I wanted to put money into a car to TT it, I would probably use the money you'd put into the TT and put it towards the purchase of a nicer car. You'll never get the money you put into a TT out of the car when you sell it. Just my honest opinion.

+1 save up and get a car that has the power you want.

To do a TT the right way on these cars will cost you well over 15k. What you really need is, the TT kit, a good EMS, clutch, gauges, wider wheels and tires for traction, coils (optional) but I would get them. With instal, and a good tune you are talking about alot of money, IMO its not worth it.

I had a G35 with a Turbonetics single turbo before I got my G37 and I realize now your better saving and buying a car with the power you want rather than modify a car that is cheaper but lacks in power.

If you are committed to getting the G37 and turbocharging it, one thing you'll need to know is how strong the all-wheel drive tranny will be.

+1 You would defn be the first person to turbo the AWD coupe. Not only would you have to worry about how much power the new 7AT transmission can hold, you need to also worry about the AWD sytem, the differentials(sp?), and other parts may wear down faster.

IMO if you are 100% set on doing this, get the6MT, there will be more parts out for it, and all you should need for the transmission is a JWT clutch. They have the kit for sale for the 6MT's already, so I would assume it will take a yr for the AWD kit if they ever make it.

if you want power, you should have gotten the c6 for like 40k 0% apr i heard. tt any car is a waste because you will have to pay a lot of money when you could have brought something else that would make the same power but wont lose the warranty.

Thanks for all the replies. My heart was set on the Nissan GTR but the dealer premiums made the car a dream car now. Then I saw that they were making the g37x awd coupe.

Get the car and in 5 years when it's paid off turbo it. Your warrenty will be over and it will be like a whole new car after 15K. Thats what I'm planning on doing. As for getting your moneys worth out of it. Yeah, it's a money pit. It's not cheap and resale value will not reflect the 15K you'll through into it for the TT.

agreed, you'll run into a lot of issues and $$$... so save up for a car that gives you the power you want like everyone else said... but if you really want to turbo your g37 i guess g37x awd, because aren't driver dynamics based on these things? like the evo and sti?
