5at Vs 7at

any body know whats the big diffrence between them?
besides the 7AT got 2 extra gears lol

It won't be that much. I wouldn't even call it a significant gain in mpg.

yeah, probably extra 1-2mpg which is better than not having the extra miles add up in savings but in the short-term, not much of a gain........ No power added though...... still the same....... closer gear ratios which means it will probably cruise at 2k rpm instead of 2200 which results in slightly better gas mileage......

Faster as in you'll get to second quicker than you will now, because the MPH range in each gear has been decreased. But your not going any faster, if that makes any sense.

If the gear ratios are assigned more efficiently, why wouldn't the car be faster? It wouldn't be by much, but nevertheless it's does make a difference, no?

Overall performance increase because the engine will be able to stay within a more optimum hp/torque curve more often. Revmatch downshifting and quicker paddle shifts a plus on the coupe. Not sure the sedan will have the added features on its 7AT.
