Cobb access port
AZg37, these two quotes should answer your questions.

The COBB certified shop I go to will not be able to do anything until this software is released from what I have heard and personally I don't think I will be satisfied with a map that gives me 2-3% increase in HP/TQ when other G37 people are getting a 25HP/20TQ+ (that is close to 9-10%)increase from a reflash designed for their car and mods. Plus there was increase in power across the entire RPM band to include the lower level. Let us know if getting a custom map at your shop is possible and the cost for something like this.

Our tuner work very hard to keep our customers happy. If you are not satisfied with the tune on the AccessPORT all you need to do is get a hold of a DashHawk or some other sort of data logger and data log your car. Then working with one of our tuners they will be able to modify the map on your car to make a custom tune. It's the best way we can custom tune with out having to bring your vehicle to your shop.
Our tuners are more then happy to custom tune a map for you, all you need to do is provide them with data logs.

wonder why they're not over here and on the G35 site trying to get some of us to get involved as well, seems they're favoring the damn Z.
i'm just going to take a guess at this and say that it makes more sense to pay more attention to the 350z when there are probably 3-4 times the amount of people that own Z's that will buy the AP vs the g37.
There is also this which someone posted on the Cobb site:
http://forums.cobbtuning.com/forums/...ad.php?t=41434
If this is true then a Cobb certified shop should be able to manipulate the Stage 1 & 2 maps to a customers liking.

first off... the fact that someone is getting emails from Trey is a good thing.... Trey is an incredibly busy man... i know that they are working diligently on releasing the AP for all the g's...
streettuner is typically released after protuner software is... it's meant for car owners who want to custom tune the car themselves... the typical release timeline for cobb goes something like Accessport, then ProTuner for their tuners, then StreetTuner....
IMO... right now there's a race to develop parts for the r35 both here and in japan... cobb is the first to release any kind of all around ecu upgrade for the r35... and believe me the market is there...

There might be hope. Response from Joe at Cobb:

This data logger seems to have universal applications and be somewhat inexpensive. Anyone know anything about it? http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/ot1.php
this seems like a very useful tool. i created a thread so we can gather user reviews on it to better help us create our own custom logs/maps.

guys, just found out a few days ago about the UpRev Osiris, which is basically about the same idea as the cobb access port. and Uprev is supposed to be releasing theirs within the next few weeks.
this can only benefit us in the sense that who ever releases theirs first is going to get a bigger chunk of the market.

JOE informed me today that the AP for the g37 is near finished. I will be sending some datalogged files to him so they can finished the stage 1 and 2 maps for our cars. He's going to send me a BETA sample to test out asap so we can test them out and in return send him data logged info of the AFR, TROTTLE POSSITION, IGNITION TIMING, AND other data that can help speed the process for the AP release.
I'll keep everyone updated
