Automatic transmission

Forum, does the G37 Sport come with an automatic transmission? Also, is the Technology package worth the extra cost? I know I want the Nav and Premium package with a spoiler/moonroof. Not sure about the Tech package???? Thanks in advance for the help!

Yes the sports does come with the 5AT. Tech package is a personal choice, go to a local dealer and see how it is.

the auto is designated as the journey. you can get the sport package added.

Yes - The 5AT Journey can be had as Sport model (with all the Sport features the 6MT would have except instead of the 6spd gearbox you get the 5spd with Paddle Shifters)

As far as tech package -

1) Adaptive Headlights When you drive at night the headlights are adaptive and noticeably - neat feature but how necessary is it we have been driving fine for decades in the dark without. If you drive many windy roads in dark I can see more use for it - otherwise it's just bragging rights and personal "feel good"

2.) Intelligent Cruise When I cruise control I typically pay enough attention to how close I am to the car in front of me. So how necessary is this - not much - I just like to say my car has a laser in the front bumper. And sometimes I use it just for the sake of using it.

3.) PreCrash Safety Belts i dont even remember what this is.

All in All I would say other than the bragging rights and the cool technology that might hit ur techy G spot - I dont see it as too worth it - though I wanted my G fully loaded so I got it.
These kind of components are also just adding more things that can go wrong with the car or that may need maintenance too.

Well every Journey is an Auto but not every Auto is a Journey - An Auto can be base too - in fact bases are only in Auto. Asuuming that "base" implies NO sport package as well. A 6mt even with no options will at minimum have Sport Package (staggered tires, 19 inch wheels, Limited Slip Diff., tighter suspension, etc.)

So is it a Journey (autotrans) with the sport package or is it the Gsport with auto trans? I'm confused?

I'm wanting the third level G-sport with autotrans and paddle shifters..... Is this available?

4 flavours of G37 (minus option packages)

1.)The Base comes in Auto only

2.)The Journey is the Base with a few comfort features (6 cd changer, 8-way pwr seats, etc). Auto Only

3.)The Journey with Sport adds all the Sport features (bigger staggered 19-in wheels, sports seats, bigger brakes, tighter suspension, limited slip differential, paddle shifters, etc) and this is Auto Only

4.)The 6MT comes with Sport Package by default.

Only #3 & #4 are called G37S, #1 & #2 are just G37. Do U get it better now?

you cannot add sport package to a base auto. the journey is the designation for the auto that can include the sport package.

Yes I know that I was stating that every Base is an Auto (meaning no such thing as a Base 6MT unless of course you would call the Sport Package as still being Base)

The Journey is the designation for it being able to be Sport sure - but more importantly in and of itself it just adds the cd changer and multi power way seats. Thats why a Base and Journey are only different in MSRP by under $1k.
People still do get Journeys without Sport just for the cd player and better power seats, which is weird but possible.

Well if you consider the Sport Pkg as being separate from base then yes it's possible to order that way. However dealerships do not typically care base 6mts. They usually at least have Premium Pkg.
