"The Nissan 3.5-liter VQ V6 engine has been named to the annual Ward's 10-Best Engines list for the 13th straight year by Ward's Communications, Inc. It is the only engine that has been part of the list every year the award has been presented."

This was back in December 06 that the articles was printed. Add another year, and keep the fact that ever since this award has been handed out, this engine has been on it.

They have a cap of vehicles priced no more than $54000. So that would rule out the LS7, but I'm not sure why the LS3 isn't on there. They did say there was more of an emphasis on fuel efficiency and emissions (which I know doesn't totally exclude the LS3 with it's highway gas mileage - but my understanding is that is more of an effect of extremely tall gears).
