Mobil One?

Anyone using Mobil One or a fully synthetic in their G37? I've been using M1 in my other cars and swear by it (especially in summer and winter with the temp extremes). It will be at least a month before I do the first oil change but would be interested in any comments on synthetics.

Not worth it if you're changing your oil every 3750 miles anyway

Save your money and use a good conventional oil (Pennzoil, Castrol, Havoline, etc.)

I used M1 Full Synthetic in my G35 before I got the G37. I changed my oil with it ever 3750. I will most likely use Amsoil or Royal Purple in the G37. Mobil 1 is great, but I think Amsoil and Royal Purple have a slight advantage.

The Infiniti "premium" maintenance schedule seems waaay excessive and probably doesn't apply to most people, just like the schedule 1 maintenance. I'll be following schedule 2 and will be using M1 after the 1st change as well.

Schedule 1 conditions:
-Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles in normal temperatures or less than 10 miles in freezing temperatures

-Stop-and-go traffic in hot weather or low-speed driving for long distances

-Driving in dusty conditions or on rough, muddy, or salt-spread roads

-Towing a trailer, or using a camper or car-top carrier

M1 has always been tried and true to me. Money or not, my Z got fresh M1 every 2500k. I am sure Royal P or Amsoil would be just as good.

I am currently using what ever they are putting a Crest Infiniti for the first 15-20K miles and then will switch over to M1. Not quite sure if there is any truth to this but I have heard that M1 or any synthetic could cause a bad break in if used early and may cause more then normal oil use. Sounded like BS but if it not I am pretty sure after 20k the car will be very well broken in.

unless you redline everytime you take her out or do frequent track days, then conventional oil is fine...

What type of oil does Infiniti use?

Why use synthetic oil? What's the benefit?

I have just over 10K miles on my G. The next oil change will be a switchover to Mobil 1.

I've been using AMZOIL for about 35 yrs.

Gear lube and other products by them, too.

It doesn't get any better-
