UPREV tune after Fast Intentions R-HFC install

Two years ago I installed FI R-HFC's on my 2008 G37S with 6MT. Last week I took it in for a UPREV tune. The car was at 282 WHP and 247 Torque before the tune. After the tune, I am now showing 295 WHP and 254 torque. The FI's are the only mod on the car, so based upon the stock engine that's is 330HP at the crank, I'm probably at 370HP crank. the calculation is WHP/.8. ( 296 / .8 = 370. ) Very pleased with the results.

On a 12 year old car with nothing but aftermarket cats?

Heck yeah, I'd be happy with those numbers. Congrats.

The conversion should be 85% for whp. 330hp almost always show 280 at the wheels, so you'd be at 340 crank. Congrats though. Are you planning on doing more bolt-ons?

I've been reasearching tunes for years, both casually and seriously. It seems other mods keep getting priority, and nothing wrong with that. But it's coming down the line for me this Summer (or next, LOL).

Through all those years I've always said I wanted a dyno-tune, pecise numbers on a same day event, by a professional. But lately I've been thinking of going with a street tune by Moncef. Dyno numbers are interesting, but I genuinely don't care about peak HP numbers, my low end power is already awesome because of short gears, so I just want more midrange power. And these days the nearest Uprev or Ecutek tuner is a 6 hour roadtrip.

That's what I feel in my "butt dyno" better midrange power. Throttle response has always been great, but it seems even more responsive than before the tune. I don't intend to do any more bolt on's. The tuner said even if I put CAI and CBE, I'd only see about an 8 to 10 HP gain. I contacted Fast Intentions and one of their reps said that he had CAI and CBE and his numbers are not that much greater. Seems that I'm about maxed out on a NA engine. I'd have to go to FI to see any significant change.

Found this (whp to crank / crank to wheel hp) calculator. I did overestimate, I'm about 348 chp. https://www.mk5cortinaestate.co.uk/calculator4.php

It's good for AWD, RWD, FWD, MT and automatic. A handy little calculator.

@Rochester I just posted my dyno sheet from Moncef in the sticky. I went to him because I'm local to Houston, though. I had no hp gain until I got a tune.

Look at you between 4-6k. That's awesome. I would certainly like that.

Yeah that makes sense. The cats are the most restrictive part of the exhaust, plus you'd prob pay another $300 for a second tune. I just did everything at once lol.
