I took a quick look on ebay and some ecus are listed as 08-09 so maybe it's just ecutek that won't work?

Or if someone has an 08 with ecutek, I'd like to know!
I have a 08 as well and looking into this. I will give them a call today..

Just exchanged emails with John (he thought we may have been the same guy).

I'm going to try going to his shop next week and have him try a newer ecu to see if it will work. (4.5 hour ride from Boston)!

Hope it works.

08 is apperently and old style ecu that doesn't support racerom features due to its smaller file size.

We are going to try to put a newer style ecu in there to see if that will work. He hasn't done an 08 before, so I suppose someone needs to try.

He gave me an address on Long Island, not CT.

Yep I spoke with him today. He seems like a really nice and knowledgable guy.

AMNQ I know I knew the answer already lol. The only reason I asked is bc several guys (yourself included) had started with the Uprev and then went over to the Ecuteck. I'm officially saving up the $850 so Visconti can get his tune on for my baby!

Yea the idea of higher Redline makes me want to get m370 but price is making me think twice and instead to invest in a little weight reduction instead.

The M370 was my 2nd mod. I still haven't really noticed that much of a difference. But I've heard that once I get tuned the M370 will make a nice contribution. That being said I got mine used off the PC's for $300 shipped

IIRC the issue is that you need 1.5mb of RAM in the ECU which the 08s don't have. There was something else about VVL but I can't recall what that was. I know there were some potential work arounds but I can't recall what they are. John is a ecutek master tuner and works closely with them on the product, if it can be done I'm sure he'll sort it out.

His primary shop is in CT, he will travel and tune though. The ferry to LI may make that easier I dunno.

Either way, I can only tell you that he's been great to work with. I'm going to do my datalogging today to get my tune optimized, the etune process has worked well for me.

Fingers are crossed that he can figure something out. Heading down in a week.

I started my e-tune today and while in the initial dump process had John on the phone guiding me as this is my first e-tune. First off, he is a super nice guy and very helpful. During the conversation I let him know I had an UpRev tune on the car and he informed me that we need to remove the UpRev tune first before we can tune with EcuTek. What a bummer, totally my fault though. I should have told him that from the beginning,b ut I thought the EcuTek tune would wipe the UpRev tune out completely. John informed me that it does not. He's currently sourcing an UpRev cable for me so I can remove the UpRev tune and then we're going to start over. Figures I have to learn the hard way. Just my luck, but I won't forget this in the future, that's for sure.
