Advice on getting a tune

So I just got a quote from two shops for a tune for my car. One shop quoted $750 dyno tune. Another one quoted $950 for a tune, they won't be using a dyno though.

Now I already have a tune in my car, but the main reason I want another tune is because it's not making enough power. However none of the tuners can guarantee any power gains and I get it where they are coming from. I was just wondering if you guys have any idea when or if stillen will come out with a stage 2 kit for the supercharger then I might just wait a get that kit and a tune.

While I'm willing to spend the extra money on a tune, however if I don't gain any power then what's the point. Also it'll be really sad if I end up getting a tune and stillen releases their stage 2 kit a month later. This is exactly what happened with my S/C. Right after I purchased my kit they released their black S/C kit.

$950 and no dyno? That's a red flag right there especially on a boosted VQ. How much power is she putting down?

Well the tuner is very well-known, it's just that they don't have an AWD dyno. The car's only putting down 370awhp and the torque isn't even worth mentioning LOL.

WOW, I had no idea a tune would cost so much. How much time do they spend on you, and is that price range ($750-950) typical?

If it's a retune, can't you datalog and tune the AFR yourself? I'm pretty sure the other factors wouldn't be changed much.

I'm not exactly sure how much time they spend, but usually a tune for boosted VQ's go for that price. I think an N/A tune costs something around $500.

First of all I have no clue on how to tune cars. Second even if I did, would I risk doing it myself and blowing it up? Hell No! Third a professional tuner with a dyno tune couldn't get me the power I want, I'm pretty sure I'll be useless.

From: Framingham Ma,
Prices are out right ridiculous. $550 -600$ is the most and that's with a dyno. So basically an Etune for 750-950$ WOW

An E Tune for 950.00????? You'd need a police report for that one because it's called Robbery. For a boosted app I really would rather go with a Dyno tune. If you have a base tune already it probably just needs to be tweaked. The only other option to a dyno would be a road tune if you have the Tuner license on your cable. And even that one shouldn't come close to 900.00 because it simply requires the tuner to ride along with you and tune via laptop. I'd get to know a tuner or be prepared to travel to one with either a 4 wheel dyno or a tuner willing to ride along for a reasonable price.
