Poll: Is the UPREV Tune worth it?

I have the Berk HFC and R2C CAI and wanted to know if the Uprev (~$600) was worth the price? I have not done a baseline dyno but can get one done. The catback exhaust is not an option so I think I may be done with engine enhancements unless anyone has other ideas?

if you arent getting an exhaust then dont even bother with the tune. Call uprev they will most likely tell you the same thing.

Exhaust isnt an option because?

you have to be 100% sure about not doing anymore upgrades, ie exhaust. I had HFC and intake and thought i was finish, so i tuned with UPrev. year later i picked up an exhaust, so now i have to retune the car for another 200ish.

if you are completely finish with engine upgrades, uprev would be a toss up. you will probably get a few more hp from the hfc and intake. However, uprev does come with 5 different maps which i thought was really cool. There was a stock map, high octance, flexible map, valet map, and anti theft map.

Had CAI, HFC and Catback installed and then tuned. My experience after an UPRev tune was better gas mileage (approx 3-5 MPG), so that in itself made it worth while for me; not sure if others have seen an improvement with MPG.

That's pretty drastic (3-5). Are you sure there wasn't any other contributing factors? Break-in, change of driving style, etc.?

I need to get mine tuned but I've done ALL of my engine mods now. If you're truly done then it might be worth it but I'd call them as they may advise it not worth the cost.

Everyone tends to forget that tuning is the most important step in the modification process after the bolt-ons have been installed. If you're calling it quits on adding any other bolt-ons, but still considering the tune then go for it. A custom UpRev dyno tune would be ideal.

I was surprised too; tested on the same stretch of highway(about 10 miles) on cruise control before tune and after tune(2 days later), exact same speed.

i didn't see any better MPG gains, but i added 4.083 gears. despite, tuning's important - i completely agree. it's a custom map that brings your afr (and detonation) to match your car. it just helps the car "run more efficiently"...but like most others, i tuned after i was doing engine mods (intakes, exhaust, test pipes and gears)

It is the wifes car now since she wrecked the minivan. She would go for an exhaust if I could find one that opens up breathing but does not make it much louder than now...

Fujitsubo.

There's an unused one in the classifieds now.

From all the reading I have done, and the responses given here the simple answer is YES. UPREV will help increase performance, feel, and most importantly efficiency.

Anyone work with a good UPREV shop in northern New Jersey?

...just noticed and thought it was funny that in the title you used Poll with a colon but did not make the thread an actual poll.

"Poll:"
