FireFox SC update
damn man, thanks for posting that. my mod bug has been exterminated for a while - i've parted out most of the car - but still had rats in my soul about not getting the cheap-as-hell stillen sc. but that... well... you can spend $10k on a $30k car, and have fun for a while, and then you could end-up with a stalled no-go junk on the side of the road...
Well let me clarify my reasons for parting my car. I had very minor problems the whole time I had it TT'ed. Nothing serious, a minor oil leak here, and backfire (loud as hell) there, but nothing that would have been the end of the road for the car or the TT. I went to stock because juggling 2 TT cars (one of which is in the shop waiting for clutch parts from overseas) and having to make arrangements to drop the G off and make it to work and pick it up afterwards was just bothersome. When the G ran....it friggin ran. That car was some much damn fun to drive and it pulled SO hard. But I am about to upgrade the GTR even more and shoot for over 600 to the wheels so my mod bug isn't gone, it just got funneled to another project.
Additionally, I had never browsed the 350z Forced induction forums so I went on there one day and was shocked to see how many threads involved "blown motor"......."Motor may be blown"......."I think I blew my motor." After reading all of this I realized that I was on borrowed time. I was fortunate to have the amount of power I had and still have my motor in tact. So I adopted the "quit while you're ahead" mentality and get out while I was still up. I consider this a win to de-boost because lost a lot of money on the re-sell of the turbo stuff BUT I still have my motor and that would have been a $10K+ problem.
In the end, I had a blast with the car boosted, and even after selling for a loss I feel good about this and consider it a win in the long term. I think you are ultimately doing the right thing to get out after such a close call with your motor. I just wish you had gotten to experience the incredible power those motors are capable of before you had to cut your losses.

well.....its possilble to roll clean and classy, like your setup, and live without boost.......welcome back to the NON boosted club!!!!! sorry for the mis haps...but ull be stringer the next time around.......u got our support.
I didn't want to sell my turbo car but I started to hear about hondas getting stolen left and right and a rumor came around that even my own friends wanted to set me up and snag my car/copy my key/find my home address. Anyways I miss boost so bad and now that I have the G it's even more tempting but like Dave said after browsing around the 305z FI forums it reminded me of my friends problems like oil leaks/overheating/putting holes in blocks. Anyways, long story short. Go FI in an FI....don't try to make a non FI car FI. My 2 cents.
Wow bro, that is a HUGE step to make to go that far and then turn back! A shredded belt is the most common first problem I have read from others after a fresh SC install but it seems that the outcome in your case was much more than just a cog belt replacement. I definitely feel your concerns though as it rides on my mind everyday.
My Vortech supercharged G is my daily driver as is most others on the board so any mishap puts me out of a car. I however am one of the few riding my time in a boosted NA car and I don't know if I could go back to a "stock" car at this point. The power is just too addicting, even if only for using the passing lane
Ah well, there's always the bolt-on route when that mod bug comes back!
