Speaking of Skylines, I saw these 2 at Road America today. Made me think twice about adding Skyline badges to my car when the guy who owns the black one said it had a turbo capable of 800hp.

Well 4DRZ, not so great news to share on this item. Here's the response I received:

"I checked the steering wheel cover. However, it is not sold just cover. It is assembly. With airbag. So I can not ship it... It is because, gunpowder is included in airbag. So it is dangerous item... Thank you for your understanding."

Bummer. Well, at least you got a solid answer. I had no luck with any of my sources either and I never got a real reason.

I know this thread kind of died down but I'm just here to say that all I had to do was message the ebay seller G37_4DR mentioned about the emblem thats a direct fit to our grille and he put one up for sale for me right away. Im happy to say my Nissan emblem is on its way! Now to buy all the other Nissan bits and bobs and everything should be ready for the swap

Anyone have any luck finding the "Nissan" airbag cover? DaddyFatSacs sent me a number for a guy who had one, but he never responded. If you see this part anywhere, please let me know. Thanks!

Skyline to G35 Emblem Swap

I seem to be going in the opposite to you all and hope you don't mind assisting me.

I have a 2008 Nissan Skyline 250GT-Four (NV36) Sedan that I'm trying to do a full exterior to limited interior conversion to the Infiniti G35X Sedan. Can the parts of the G35x Sedan fit the Skyline 250GT Four? If they do, what year G35 is a better match for the 2008 Skyline? I have attached trunk lids for comparison.

1. Trunk Lid Cover (prefer to swatch entire trunk lid than to remove the lettering and emblem as they may not get realigned like the factory and look like a botched job)
2. Front Grill or Grill emblem
3. Engine Cover
4. Airbag
5. Wheel Hub Center Caps

Thanks

I want to make sure I understand what you're intending to do. For the exterior of your Skyline 350GT FOUR, you are wanting to swap out all Nissan logos for Infiniti logos and corresponding model designation. In addition to this, you are wanting to swap some of the interior pieces to Infiniti. I'm clarifying because I first read this as you were wanting to swap over to some sort of Limited Edition version. I think I'm following you now.

In terms of your list of five items, here's my two cents:

1) Trunk swap; I understand your concern about hand-placement of the Infiniti emblems. I'm also very particular (read **** retentive) and it would bother me to no end if I didn't place each emblem in the exact spot it was supposed to go. This is why I went emblem-less. So that's an option. Otherwise, shipping will probably be pricey, but you can definitely track down a 2007-2009 USDM Infiniti G35X trunk in Moonlight White from a junkyard in the US.

2) Front grill or grill emblem; I would bet that the grills for USDM and JDM are the same. So it's a matter of tracking down the right USDM Infiniti emblem - something you could easily do from a US-based Infiniti parts dealer website. MY 2007-2009

3) Engine cover; same thing here; coupe and sedan should be the same. MY 2007-2009.

4) Airbag cover; this may be your toughest bet because you won't be able to buy this new and have it shipped overseas as it is consider an explosive. Probably need to track just the airbag cover down from a US junkyard and even then, they may not be willing to try and separate it from the airbag assembly itself. Good luck with this one.

5) Wheel center caps; should be super easy. The stock USDM Infiniti wheel center caps use a 54mm face and a 50mm back - same as Nissan center caps. You should be able to nab some from ebay or a US-based Infiniti parts dealer website. MY 2007-2013 for sure, probably more.

Hope this helps.

Just wanted to drop a 'thanks' in here to G37_4DR too. Hopefully someone can find an airbag cover, that seems to be the hardest thing to find from what I'm reading. I don't suppose it has it's own part number independent of the whole assembly?

Thanks AdamBritt. Another thing worth noting: of the interior pics I've found online, they seem to only be in black and the seats are all cloth. So any airbag cover you may ever happen to come across will probably only be black. My interior is stone, so I've ruled this out.

I fortunately have a black interior; I'll have to take a minute and post some pictures of my car soon. I have a few okay ones but none for the interior yet.

Do you know if the wheel caps are the same size for the 19 inch wheels? I have an IPL model and am still reading about what all the exact differences are.

Also I wish I could give you an official thanks but I can't find it on here, perhaps because I'm a new member. I'll make sure to come back when I can.

I appreciate it, AB. As far as your 19" IPL wheels, I can't be certain on the sizing of the center caps. My two cents is that the part # for the center caps listed in my original post fits a wide variety of NISSAN vehicles. Aside from large vehicles such as Titan, Armada, and the QX80 which have six lug wheels, I wouldn't see a need for the manufacturer to vary the sizing of the center of their wheels too much. My hunch is that the sizing of those center caps are pretty standard across the NISSAN and INFINITI lineup. Maybe you can order one and test fit? Either way, you can find them for pretty cheap as a set of four on ebay. I ordered mine from Thailand (they were genuine OEM) and paid like $25 shipped.
