Can you provide some photos, please.Very interested in seeing how your rear diffuser looks, as I have the hitch setup myself and would like to add a rear diffuser.
@Hikmer , I "believe" that the spacers are only to shift the part bolted to the inner bumper forward to give more clearance to the rear bumper plastic (look at the photos in the 1st post where the bumper plastic was trimmed). If what I "believe" is true, you will have to decide whether or not to use them or trim the plastic. Then again, you might have plenty of clearance without the spacers.
I actually did this project myself over the weekend and the spaces are included in the mounting kit for the receiver. I used them but one was not as thick as the others and is loose (or some other spacing issue). However the bolts are super tight and I am not worried. I had a heck of a time tightening the bolts with the nylon threads. Make sure you have the right tools, and protect your bumper while doing this. I applied blue tape around the area just in case my hand slipped.

Sorry for the delay here's a shot. Shadows lightened to show the cutout in the diffuser grill.
The drop hitch is sitting directly behind that hole.
I will be using a 4th brake light in that hole with a pluggable harness.
Let me know if you want additional info or photos.
You may notice the diffuser has started to separate at the top.
My next project is to remove it, clean off the retail (home depot) 3M tape and use their 3M RT8008US industrial acrylic foam tape and along with 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter.
I have plenty left over from the louver installation.
I thought I'd throw this out to this thread for some input. I've gotten to the point that my kid wants to ride with me! So i need a hitch that will fit two bikes..which means its going to get heavier. Since this DIY is mounted to the aluminum bumper, I am thinking not a great idea. I am toying with the idea of having a frame mounted hitch installed; it will let me carry a heavier bike rack and tow my motorcycle to track days.
The alternatives is to possibly get the hidden hitch welded/re-inforced or go back to SUV land. Anyone have experience putting more then 1 bike on this DIY? Thanks for the input.
Well, thats great to hear. I wasn't sure how solid the bumper connection was: I currently have a Raxter Single Racker (20lbs) and a trail bike (30lbs). I have tranported my DH bike several times, but I thought that might be the limit.
I had a similar setup on my RX8, which had an almost identical aluminum bumper reinforcement to the G37. I could jump up and down on that thing (250# at the time) without a problem. 2 bikes on a carrier would be a cinch. Remember, the thing is supposed to survive a 5mp impact with zero damage.
Depending possibly on the type of bumper you have.
I see this mod replacing the hole where folks install the bottom brake light.
Not so sure on NIsmo style bumpers.
Being that the G/Z have an almost identical rear when it comes to frame style you could maybe start playing with it in digital form to see if it's worth it for you and maybe get an idea if you have to cut anything.
