Dual Filter a Takeda CAI

ok guy so i wanted to dial out my Takeda CAI

here are some rough dimensions of the filter thats included with the kit.

Flange Inside Diameter: 3.5"
Filter Height: 10.5"
Overall Length: 12"
Circumference: ≈ 16"
Diameter: ≈ 5"
Flange Length: .75"

so then go to K&N Universal Air Filter, Crankcase Vent Filter, Flame Arrestor, and Filter Wrap Search by Dimension
and look for a filter you want. You can look up filters than can fit under the rain guard or go nutz and get some fatties..

there are way more options for a Cone type VS the cylindrical.

Very nice. I've been waiting for someone to do this. For whatever reason, I have always had a weird aversion to the dual intakes pulling air from a single filter.

Make sure you post pics when you install it and let us know how it turns out.

found two great candidates that should work with the rain guard

RU-2990 - K&N Universal Air Filters, Universal Rubber Filter
RU-2790 - K&N Universal Air Filters, Universal Rubber Filter

what you guys think?

So although the RU-2990 was shorter than the RU-2790, the 2990 matched the circumference so went with it. And dang it's tiny.

Here are some comparison pics I took today when I swapped out my Gen3 for the Takedas

The RU-5114 looks like it may be the answer for a direct twin intake swap out.

Yeah, those are tiny. Are you going to return them and order the RU5114 instead?

I am. Will update when that happens.

Also getting fatty filters for the guys that want to run without the rain guard may not happen the Takeda fits a lot more to the front than the Gen3. Could be a little bigger in circumference but not too much.

Not sure about others. But for me I replaced my Gen3's because I didn't like the "fit" love how the takedas install in comparison. I already have the intake holes cut so don't expect much of a difference, but I much rather the sound of the dual intakes vs takedas single tube filter.

i know i weird...

another reason is that some ppl speculate that because its open to both intakes that one may be robbing air from another..
