Could Plasti Dip replace the 3M clear bra?

 

not really.

Plastidip is totally different from clear bra. The surface is very rough, not smooth at all, matte in color, not glossy shiny comparable to 3M clear bra.

Pricing comparision:

2 cans of plastidip ~$20
3M clear bra ~$200

Durability:

Plastidip - unknown at this point
clear bra - my car has them on for 2 years without any fading, cracking or any issue. The bumper still looks brand new and provide extremely good protection against rock chips.

 

There was a guy on another forum who was doing plasti dip clear bras, he was using glossifier, as its not flat. Google him out, he said he tested the stuff out and it compared very well, and for the price... it was something to consider.

 

How much of your front end does the clear bra cover?

 

I guess it's a matter of time and $$$
