Very cool, thanks. I'd like to get my radar off the custom dash wedge previous owner glued down. Hopefully dash is same color/shade under the mount?

I decided to run the escort direct wire kit ($15 amazon) to the fuse box with a mini fuse tap. ($7 amazon) I have mine mounted up as high as possible with the factory suction cup mount. The under mirror mount is clean looking but I dont like the radar where people can walk by and see it. Also the instructions state to mount the radar as high as possible. I haven't had any issues with interference from the tint. I can also easily move the radar to rental cars as I can reuse the mount and I still have the cig plug power. I really think this is the best option as opposed to paying for the under mirror mount and mirror tap.

I am also not a fan of the RD being super visible from outside the car. Here's another take on a more "stealth" mounting option.. Mirror tapped, mounted with a visor clip and wrapped in a cloth tape that mimics the headliner. You cannot see it whatsoever from outside the car unless you get really low and look for it..

Just did this in two minutes with the Mirror tap kit. You don't even need to unplug the harness, let alone pull back that white piece. Just use the smallest set of taps and push a bit when inserting.

Pics for reference. I took one and detached the harness to show how easily and secure the smallest taps fit in with a bit of pressure.

Thanks for this. I had got the special cord and mount for my Uniden and installed it today on a 09 g37x sedan using this thread for any help. Install was easy enough and it works great...BUT now when I turn up music because of the subs and amp in my trunk it vibrates the radar detector pretty good and bounces around like crazy if I turn up the sound, mainly because the mount attaches to the mirror mount is my guess. Everything is tightened down the best it will get but will need to figure out what can be done about this issue. Anyone had this problem?
