its required as soon as you are done. Making sure the springs arent loose

Oh, ok. Good to know. Haha.

So once I get it to the height I want then this needs done?

I can definitely install them myself as I'm mechanically inclined but adjustments is what I know nothing about.

So I'm looking to get Swift springs installed. I lack the skills and equipment to do this myself. A mechanic quoted me $400 stating he has to remove the end links, and remove the drive shaft. Pretty sure he's wrong on both counts. Can anyone confirm?

Shouldn't be any more than $200-250 to install springs. He may have to take off the endlinks but that's about.

I am not sure about the price but you don't have to remove the end links and drive shaft. What I did was yank the shocks out using brutal force without even loosen the a-arms.

If anyone decides the rear doesn't go high enough when maxed out, I have the original spacers that came with my BC coilovers for sale in the marketplace

Found a budget mechanic to the springs for $200-250. This guy did my sway bars for $60 while others wanted $200.

Went to another mechanic, he went by the book and quoted me $475.

Possibly a question for another thread, but has anyone found that mechanic books state inflated hours for work on the Infiniti? I wonder if those numbers are inflated as part of a "luxury ownership" expense.

Inflated for most mechanics.. yes. Correct me if anyone knows different, but in the early stages when they are coming up with hours I believe they are taking averages and deciding what should be the flat price for all certified dealers. I worked for years in service and anytime you go to a dealership, they are going to charge you what the book says. I have some friends that are flat rate and get paid the same no matter what. I also know some faster mechanics that prefer not to be flat rate because they can get 5 hour jobs done in half the time and they beat their "40 hours" getting paid more every week.

Typically an independent shop will take a look, have a rough estimate in mind, and tack on a bit more time because as anyone who does DIYs knows... there is always the possibility of something random that will set you back in terms of time.

Got my new swift springs, and shocks, was about to take apart the whole suspension, until I saw your post. You saved me a ton of time.
