HELP: GT Spec Mid Chassis Brace

For those who have the Gt spec 6 point mid chassis point please help.

How do I bolt the outer point to the frame? there's a hole but seems to be no way to put the nut on the other side.

I am talking about the point and hole close to the side skirts.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

There is no nut associated with it. It's just a bolt that screws directly into the frame, that hole in the frame is threaded

that's what I was expecting ( the front tie braces have threaded hole in frame) .

But this one doesnt. It's just a hole, no thread, unless early 08 G models are different.

after looking at the stock pics, there's a small chance that I have the braces on the wrong sides. I will check it in the morning.

Are you referring to the self-tapping rivets?

Here's my how-to.

And a couple of other videos to show how those rivets work.

p.s. It's also possible you have inverted the placement... seems to be a common issue with the GT-Spec. On the first link above is a pic of how they should look.

p.p.s. pics of how GT-Spec ships these guys out vs. how they should be.

wow thanks mike!!

This should be a sticky, I've wondered and wondered, almost spent $100 bucks for a shop to install mine.

Say, can you tell a difference when it's installed?

I was unable to find the "self-tapping rivets". If anyone know where I can buy them, please let me know.

Glad it helps guys. Legz, i do have a review on the 'Driver link. The brace does help quite a bit.

Loi, fellow 'Driver members who were in the same situation as yourself had to order the parts from GT-Spec. If you're lucky you should be able to get a couple fairly quick, although take note there were times when they were out of this and was on a 2-week or so backorder.
