Headlights are just a bulb change, fogs will require a ballast. But dont let that intimidate you!!! It is so easy and straightforward, especially w/ HPA's fog kit.

Not unless your changing the foglights to HID, if not then you dont need ballasts.

For anyone wanting to go in from the top, I found this nice PDF about replacing the stock air intake.

Here is the part pertaining to removing the stock air intake boxes:
Remove the original air filter boxes by loosening the hose clamp and removing the air box retaining bolt. There is only one bolt securing each air filter box and they will release from the car by firmly pulling up on them after the single bolt is removed.

I found that you probably don't need to disconnect the sensor connector.

Also, if you are just trying to make the fogs look closer in color to the headlights, you can get a little closer with some Xenon White OEM replacement bulbs. They will still appear slightly yellow, but they're super cheap.

I haven't read any reviews on these, but they sure look interesting for anyone who doesn't want to go through all the trouble of converting fogs/DRLs to HID:

G37 Sedan:
V-LEDS 5K HID WHITE 28 LED 2X BRIGHTER OUTPUT DRL/FOG BULBS HB4 9006
V-LEDS 6K HID WHITE 28 LED 2X BRIGHTER OUTPUT DRL/FOG BULBS HB4 9006
G37 Coupe:
V-LEDS HID WHITE 36 M-SMT DRL SHOW BULBS H1

If I get motivated enough to try them out, I will post my results in this thread with some pics. Now I just need to find a good DIY that outlines converting fogs to DRLs. There has to be a way better than all that soldering and hacking into relays.

Edit: Don't forget to use the discount code MyG37 if you buy from v-LEDs.com

Thanks Covale. I was looking for a good visual ref for removing the air boxes. I've got Hoen xenonwhite fog and chrome-amber turn bulbs coming in a few days. A quick and easy install in the dead of winter is just what I need!

Please post some pics once you get them installed. I would love to see what you have done. I am still debating on going through the trouble of the HID conversion for the fogs. I have looked at several kits, and can't seem to decide what would look best for a 9006 HID fog light.

Also, does anyone have pics of replacing the Parking Lights on a 2009 G37 Sedan?

Here's pics of my stock lights vs all HID lights (6000K headlight/8000K fog).

IMO changing the fogs to HID is totally worth it

You do not actually have to remove the wheel to go in from the bottom (just turn it all the way to the outside and peel back the wheel well) and it IS possible to do all 3 (HID, fog and parking lights) from the bottom. I just did all 3 of mine in about an hour without removing the wheels.

09 G37 right here, brother. Got my Hoen fog lights in less than a week. The chrome turn signal bulbs just came in yesterday .

Installed them at night in the dead of winter, so you guys better appreciate it :P

I went through the top, removing the air filter boxes. What a PITA that was, mostly because I didn't know what I was doing, despite everyone's easy to understand directions.

Let me amend the previous posts about accessing the headlights through the top. DISCONNECT the damn air sensors. They come off very easily and allow you to THROW THE DAMN AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY AWAY. That blasted air box was tethered to the air sensor and was falling into the engine bay during the entire bulb replacement phase on my driver's side. On the passenger side removing the sensor made a a night and day difference. Unfortunately the washer fluid box is on the passenger side and it was really in the way Even with that adversity I finished the passenger side in about 10 minutes.

Last bit of advice I can give is to remove your fog lights by turning them until they are free from their post and then use a flat head screwdriver to pop free the clip holding the bulb to the wiring. The wiring is too short and tight, and I was trying for a good 30 minutes to wedge a screwdriver into that cramped area where the fog light was to no avail.

Good luck to all and to all a good night.
