hahah not at all that's not how i mean it sounds sarcastic but i wasn't being sarcastic the second one i was agreeing with him and i meant like wow really i didn't even notice it and i'm not being sarcastic with my question just kind of shocked that my dealer would charge me over two hundred for installing the lights when it takes ten minutes.

I apologize everyone i'm not sarcastic at all, I'm on a couple other sites g35nyc and g35 driver and honestly nobody likes me everyone gives me a hard time about how i talk on here, i talk like how i would in person and fast i never use commas or put any emphasis on anything and everybody thinks im sarcastic and an ******* sorry everyone for the bad first impression

Dealer is charging you based on going through the wheel well..

You cannot access (at least with the ability to change the light) the headlights through the engine, you have to go through the well..

So they are probably charging you 2hrs of labor.. taking off both wheels, wheel well lining etc..

so wait, everbody here just said they are changing there hids and fogs by not going through the wheel wheel, and just "going through the top" or is the "top" more difficult than just opening the hood? sorry if i'm sounding stupid but i'm trying to get straight to the point you know.

You can change the fog and city lights through the engine bay very easily (through the top) but the headlights you must take off the wheels and go through the wheel well, or take off the bumper

For the purpose of this discussion, all those refer to the same thing. The bulb right below the fog, in the fog light reflector housing.

Has anybody installed a ballast kit for the fog lights on a g37 coupe and knows a good spot to mount them under there

Haha dont worry man I don't think Danny (ucla_bruin) was doing anything but trying to be helpful

I've got my drivers side ballast installed just behind the faux vent and the passenger side ballast is installed on the metal frame in between the wheel and the engine (on the wheel side)

yeah don't be intimidated by the fog HID kit. It is really simple (and some of the diagrams in the manuals make it look more complicated). It really is pretty self-explanitory one you are looking at everything together.

You should NOT have to do ANY cutting whatsoever.

There should be connectors on both ends. Just unplug the old wires and plug them into the ballast's new connectors.

If you still want pics of the ballast placement PM me

what is everyone using for city light/parking lights/ yellow ugly bulb under the fog light i bought PIAA 194/168 plasma blue bulbs i was gonna put them back by my license plate but after changing my HID heads last night i notice those yellow bulbs are gross, what will do the trick?

Also, anybody who has used an HID ballast upgrade kit for the fogs, how does the HID bulb fit through the HI metal housing? I tried to force it through and i think i might have broke the bulb and i know i touched it with my fingers, does anybody know what I should do, it says use rubbing alcohol to clean it. and the metal clips that everyone is talking about unclipping instead of unscrewing the two screws on the sides of the foglight housing are getting in the way of me putting the new HID bulbs in, has anyone had this problem, also i unattached the top of my windsheild washer res. is there anything else i can do in there to get my hands in there and be able to get in there to see what i'm doing, i'm going from the top and from the wheel well. i got so frustrated with the HID ballast kit last night that I'm driving around with absolutely no fogs in at all right now.

Has anybody had to cut a hole in the dust cap so the ballast kit can fit through it?
