Just to get an idea... Write your name here if you would be willing to by a pre-built kit for the Ambient lights. It would cost about $35 and you would need to drill three holes and solder onto one wire. Let me know if there is any interest.

By LED tubes, do you mean cold cathode rays?

I don't mean to bring an old thread back to life, but maybe some of this information can be useful. Basically, my friend and I were installing cold cathode tubes in my car instead of LEDs and we are having a problem turning them on. They will turn on when the headlights are off, but as soon as we turn the headlights on, the cathodes turn off. There are only two tubes in the car, so I am not sure if it is drawing too much power. We used a tap-in to tap in to the cigarrete lighter. Also, we hooked it up to just one potentiometer, which has a built-in switch (it is supposed to be a volume control).
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
