Smart man. It’s so hot and humid right now that the heat index still reads well over 95 degrees at 11pm most nights.

I haven’t really figured out a way to work on cars without killing my back either. Even with a lift it seems like I spend most of my time hunched over. Luckily, that’s not too much of an issue with what I do because my shoulders hurt way too much for me to ever notice the back pain, lol. That polisher gets really heavy when working vertically all day.

Yeah, in Charleston it's been 90+ and 150% humidity for a month and a half. It's basically. At 9pm last night I thought I'd start on the swaybars... still felt like breathing through a hot, wet blanket.

I used to paint boats too, only just the bottom half with the super toxic copper anti-fouling paint. It was a messy summer job...

Long time? Not at all. The last time I thought I could simply "do the whole car" in one long day, I was 20 years old, car parked under my parents tree and a six pack on ice. These days I look at the car one panel at a time.

I have a question. How do you clean the car? Do you use those special microfiber wash mits and the grit guard when washing a black car?

I start off with a thorough rinse with a power washer, followed by a foam cannon and light rinse. Afterwards, I use a couple microfiber mitts and the two bucket method, with grits guards, to finish washing it. After the final rinse I use Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic Detail Spray and about a dozen microfibers as a drying aid/spray detailer to finish it off. Whole process takes maybe 45 minutes including setting everything up.

Wow! Black paint looks so good when it is all clean! Thanks for educating me! I just bought a black car and am trying to learn how to clean it properly to prevent scratches, even though it will still be repainted this coming spring or summer as it is a project saloon car.
