Anyone use tire shine/dressing?

My tires are starting to turn a dull brownish gray, which throws off the look of my now "blacked out" car. I've read people have mixed feelings on this. My cousin is a fan of Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel. Seems like it'd be maybe a monthly thing?

Your tires are coated with road grime and oxides that turn the sidewalls (and tread) that lovely shade of gray. I like black tires but hate shiny black tires. I use Westleys Bleach White when I wash the car and it returns the tires to a nice matte black. Oily wheel dressings just attract more dirt and make the tires look worse much more quickly than a clean tire.

However, my supply of Westley's is several years old (I tend to buy in bulk) and the newer versions of Bleach White are manufactured by Black Magic. Many have noted that the results are not nearly as good as the older formulation made by Westleys so YMMV

I like Maquiar's Tire Gel. Been using it for years, and not just on tires. It works uncommonly well for unpainted plastic surfaces. If you have a SUV or crossover, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Tires and black plastics both... apply it with an applicator pad, work it in, then buff it out to a clean, uniform, matte finish.

I use the Chemical Guys silk shine dressing. It's not petroleum-based and can be used on interior plastics and on tires. It's water-soluble, so it doesn't last as long as some petroleum products, however, it gives a rich black colour with a satin finish and doesn't turn your tires orange after a while like some other products.

I 've tried numerous brands and I prefer Griot's Garage Black Satin Tire Coating. It leaves a natural black finish, that's not too shiny and I'd say it lasts approximately, give or take two weeks. It doesn't seem to sling when I'm driving quite fast. That's my preferred choice though!

I use Zaino Z16. It usually lasts 2-3 weeks unless we get a lot of rain. It has a nice satin look.

Every few months I scrub my tires with a brush while washing the car to prevent the dingy brown look.

Finally bought a 19" Rim Brim this summer. Wish I had bought one years ago.

If you like to use spray foam for tire cleaning and dressing, the Rim Brim is incredibly useful.

If you don't want all the shine but just a new tire look, aerospace 303 brings your tires back to life. also protects again UV and dry rotting. alot of tire shine will damage your tires and cause dry rot so make sure you research what you use.
