Tire Spray / Gel???

I was wondering what you guys use for tire spray / Gel?

I used "Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel" a coupe times and it looks great but I get sling all over my car and it looks horrible.

I was wondering if anyone had some good products that would not sling all over my car. Thanks guys.

I use McGuires GoldClass Endurance (Purple Stuff)
IT is a gel not a spray. Works amazing, does not spin off
AND it doesn't cause that annoying browning of the tire.
It works well... Key is to ensure the tire is clean before using.

I am VERY picky when it comes to tire dressings and I've probably tried every possible one out there over the years. When it comes to tire dressings, it's always recommended to buy a water based dressing and not a solvent based dressing. Solvent based dressings can discolor and damage your tires.

Tire dressings are a personal preference. Some like the wet look while some like a matte or natural look. My favorite dressing is Poorboys Bold N Bright. Works great, doesn't sling, and lasts for quite awhile. Whatever you choose, just make sure it's water based.

I prefer Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel. When used correctly with an applicator and then wiping with a terry cloth it does not sling and keeps the tires nice and black for weeks to come. I typically don't use on every wash... more like every other.

Does the Poorboys yield a matte look or a wet look?

^ It's kind of in the middle. It does provide a shine to your tires, however it's more of a natural shine than a wet look type of shine. Not sure if that makes sense or not.

I use this also.. Make sure your tires are clean first as said above. Also When using tire shine I like to plan ahead an hour or so for it to dry a little before I drive, usually helps even with products that are known to sling.. but I never have issues with this products and sling.

I just went to the store and looked on the back of all the tire gels/sprays and couldn't find where it says whether it's water based or solvent based....am I missing something? I just picked up the Turtle wax gel b/c it was on sale 3/$10...hehe. We'll see how this works.

Most of the time it doesn't say unless it is... You can rarely find water based tire products locally. Products like Black Magic, Eagle One, Meguiars, TurtleWax, etc, will not be.

Basically the rule of thumb is that if it's a gel type tire dressing than it's solvent based. But that is not to say that only gel type tire dressings are solvent based. Typically, water based tire dressings are a white milky type of liquid.

I've used Meguire's gel in the past but starting using Zaino tire dressing. It's milky (water based). Although it doesn't last as long as gels it leaves a clean (not overly glossy) finish and lasts for a few weeks.
