Yup. Saddle soap did a number on the leather in my QX56. Thankfully I had an interior protection warranty and they were able to fix the seat for free.

Our leather is coated. You can clean it well with just about any leather cleaner. I use apc cut 10/1 and steam to clean my seats. What's more important is how you protect it afterward. I'm still hunting the BEST solution for our car.

In some of my customers I use lexol. Other's I use leatherique. I keep hearing that 303 aerospace works wonderfully on coated leather...but I haven't tried it on my G yet.

I just used Lexol on my monoco leather and it worked perfectly. The previous owner must of had a dead skin or psoriasis problem because it was white dirt not dark dirty. The best part is, you can get Lexol from autozone. I wanted Leatherique but shipping on one bottle of it made the overall price a bit outrageous. I used the mothers brush to get the Lexol to lather up.

don't use leatherique, it is not for aniline leathers. call them and ask if you don't believe me. saddle soap is even worse!

there are a few good products you can use. leather masters, gliptone, zaino

Zaino leather cleaner. Not to mention it leaves the good leather smells.

First, I want to correct some erroneous statements. Leatherique was designed specifically for aniline leather. Aniline leather is uncoated. With that being said, the G37 does not have aniline leather.

Here is my experience:

Steam: When used correctly you can actually remove light wrinkles from your leather. You can do this with a garment steamer, or by microwaving wet wash cloths for about 2-3 minutes. The wash clothes are somewhat fool-proof since you can't over steam an area.

Lexol: Great for removing body oils and shiny spots. This is a good overall leather cleaning product. I always follow up with a conditioner after a heavy cleaning though, to ensure that the leather doesn't dry out and crack. A leather brush is your friend.

Leatherique: I have found that this product is still effective on our leather. The rejuvenator and pristine clean duo leave the seats perfectly matte and reduce wrinkles. It is especially effective on the perforated sections of the seat. Basically, the leatherique takes the "back door" into the leather to re-hydrate and renew. The only reason that leatherique is generally not recommended for coated leathers is because it will not make its way into the hide, but the perforations in the leather seem to make this possible, since I have used leatherique with very nice results.

How often should seats be cleaned and do back seats need to be cleaned as often if no one every sits in them?

Ditto on the Leatherique. I used on my somewhat dingy (din-jee) tan leather seats in my 03 G35 before I sold it. Assuming its the same leather in our G37's I would give it a shot. There are two components as you probably know; the Rejuvinator, and then the Pristine Clean. I have used all sorts of "leather cleaners" and not seen a difference like this ever. The procedure takes some time and may be cheaper to simply replace the headrest.

I find it very useful to cover the seats in garbage bags and then towels to let it sit for a day or two. This really gives the rejuvenator time to heat up and soak in without having downtime.
