What products should I get for my car?

I have a new blk/blk G that I need to get some interior and exterior good for. I am finding that this damn black car is very hard to keep clean all the time!

What is good for monthly interior wipe downs and care?

What must haves should I get for the exterior to keep my black paint from swirling? I am only going to take it to a touchless wash or do it myself.

Wax, sealers, gloss?

Thanks!

do it yourself for sure (I don't trust the soap they use). there are ton of good products and how to guides over and detail image. I mostly use chemical guys products but there are a lot of brands that are just as good (some better depending on the job).

I like blackfire high gloss polish(i think thats the name) and the blackfire all finish paint protection sealant. The two together works wonders for me, and it will make your black paintjob look wonderful! For soap i use meguires wash and wax, you can find it at like target, Walmart, auto parts stores, etc. for interior i dont use armor all because its so greasy, but i use meguires gold class leather conditioner. And whatever meguires plastic stuff is i can't remember the name. Sometimes ill claybar before i polish and use the sealant. Only clay bar I've used is meguires clay bar kit. This system works well for me, the polish and sealant is recommended for darker paint jobs so that black will be a mirror like finish.

Definitely get high quality car care products AND the best microfiber towels you can find (not the junk at WalMart, Autozone, etc.). Taking care of a black car is not easy, but it looks like no other after it has been freshly detailed.

Start with products that are fairly easy to find locally like Meguiars or 3M. You can pick them up at PepBoys. If you don't have a store by you, then look online. There's a ton of sites with products, how-to guides, and everything you need to get started.

Keep in mind though they do sell some detailing products at Walmart and autozone, but i deffinitely do not use the towels from there. OP, for drying use waffle weave towels. I forgot to mention when i bought my products online i used autogeek, but other websites are good like detailed image. It is a bit more pricey for these higher quality products but for a 40k car i think its worth it especially with the black paintjob.

Thanks all. Went to Pep Boys on Sat and got Meguires liquid wax and some spray on quick detail stuff(might exchange that for their other spray which is for black cars. Got some nice MF towels and a super soft one for buffing or dusting off the dust. I am driving my hubby nuts wanting to always keep my car clean LOL!

It will turn into an addiction and youll notice every tiny mark or imperfection. I used the liquid wax before I promoted to the more pricey stuff, it works pretty good. I still have a good amount left in the bottle too. Actually idk if I'm correct, but using a rag to wipe off dust(without using anything to make the surface wet) might be a bad idea. If you use the spray quik detailer then that would be fine but without any lubrication the rag might just move the dust around and cause swirl marks or even light scratches. Like I said, I might be wrong but that's what I've been told also.

More important than the products is the technique used to wash and dry the car. Use the 2 bucket method or some variation there of and consider using an electric leaf blower to dry the bulk of the car. The less you touch the car with anything the better, especially with black. I would only use a quick detailer after a wash, not in between. Search YouTube for the "Junkman's 2 bucket wash technique". There are 3 parts to watch. I found them helpful.
