Rotor care

Today I tried to clean up my rotors because it started to have brown spots on it. Just wondering what people use to clean theirs with because with soap and water I was able to get a lot off but there is still some there.

i would imagine anything other than brake cleaner would be a waste of time.

By brown spots, so you mean rust spots? There's nothing you can do about that other than store it in a moisture free climate controlled environment. Iron + water = rust.

If you mean brake dust, there's number of different cleaners that you can use. Nothing will keep it off long term, its a byproduct of using the brakes.

I think it's too soon for rust but anything can happen. Hopefully it's just really bad brake dust

One thing i noticed is that my rotors always look rusted after getting wet, regardless of car. But after braking from a short drive the pads remove any trace of the rust stains.
