FYI all of Adams products are just rebranded from Chemical Guys...go with Chemical guys...it's the same exact thing and a whole lot cheaper and CG has a lot more products to offer.

Try blot drying with 1 - 2 of the DI Microfiber Waffle Weave Drying Towel. It's a very soft and paint safe towel that is super absorbent.

It is not supposed to pick up dirt. If there is still dirt on your car after you wash, then you are not washing correctly or thoroughly. I have used the Absorber for over 6 years with great results. It's a great product.

 

Thanks to the advice in this thread I picked up a huge waffle weave towel from O Reillys for $9.99 and it works so much better than a chamois which I have been using. I also picked up a mothers power ball thing for waxing and I love the results.

 

Yes, I would like to thank everyone as well as your posts have been extremely helpful to me. It's been a number of years since I last owned a black car and now I remember why I said "never again"!

Really, I do love black - but man, hard to keep it clean. I also picked up a couple of waffle towels and they made a huge difference.

I am going to have to post a separate question about some scratches on my hood. While they are not deep (fingernail doesn't hit them) they won't come out using McGuires Scratch-X. I may have to have them professionally removed.

 

I see differing opinions on how to dry. When using a waffle weave microfiber towel, is it better to blot only, or to get the towel damp and "wick" the water off (e.g. "drag" the towel).

 

Also, what do you guys do after washing and drying, if you are not then planning on polishing? Do you wax? Is that what "quik detailer sprays" do?

 

I just got told to never use a presure washer on a car,. Looks like it takes off some of the wax on the paint.
