Winter Salt

Was reading up about winter salt and read that Brake Dust in the summer time is much worse than winter salt. I wanted to know what you guys felt because since I read this I might consider keeping my wheels on for the winter and not buy a winter set. Will salt really cause that much havoc to your wheels? I know it will to chrome so, but I have Volk Phantoms. Anyone ever not put on a winter set and see? I was thinking about washing the rims right after I get out of the car or something after they lay down some salt

Interesting; I'm not sure which is the most corrosive- Brake dust vs Road salt. But consider this, in the winter you'll have a combination of both to contend with...just a thought
