Help spray on wax
spray on wax
Hey guys, just purchased a new black g37x coupe and thinking of waxing it for the first time. i'm leaning towards spray on wax because it seems quick and easy. was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for wax. Also, are cotton microfiber towels good choice for removing the wax without causing swirl marks? thanks!
yeah what Loi said. spray wax is great for in between waxes, really good for giving a nice shine before taking the car out. doesnt have too much in terms of actual protection, unless you get a good one!
detailed image has some really good stuff, well almost all their stuff is really good. many members here only buy from detailed image. even if youre not looking to buy online, detailed image has a LOT of great articles on every step of detailing your car properly along with recommendations for what products to use.
microfiber towels are the way to go. dont put anything else to your paint, at least i dont. and yes they are good for removing wax without causing swirl marks!

Go with Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant. It is really easy to buff on and remove, plus it lasts for months and leaves a beautiful, sleek finish. Best of all, it doesn't collect dust easily like the Meguiars line of products.
I've been using Optimum Spray Wax between waxes. It allows me to get higher durability due to the extra protection without sacrificing the shine of a wax job.
What I do every few months is apply two coats of sealant (ideally 12 hrs apart), then two coats of carnuba paste wax (also about 12 hrs apart). I use Optimum spray wax in between major details like that, on as needed basis. Works fine for me. Spray on waxes are really just band aids but they work if you use a combination of protection methods.
And yes, Detailed Image has some good stuff and good advice. Check their blogs, I learned a lot about detailing there.
