I had a radar detector on my dashboard. After taking it down a few times, I noticed that it had left 4 large silver marks. Does anyone know how I can get these off? How about the magic eraser? Thanks.

 

Are the marks just etches onto the dashboard material, or did it make incisions into it?

If it looks like some color rubbed off on to it, the magic eraser might work well. However, be gentle on it. I tried to touch up one of my door panels with a pen and didn't like how it turned out. Used a magic eraser to clean it off (and it did come off) but after a few rubs the material didn't look the same.

The stuff on the doors is a tad bit more fragile than the dash though.

Either way, it's textured vinyl and not invincible.
