Dashboard noise
My coupe has about 33K miles on it and the dashboard has started creaking and chirping....has anybody else had this issue? It's only audible when traveling over bumpy roads w/ the radio off, but knowing it's there drives me crazy! I feel like I'm driving a 15 yr old car
Yeah, there are a couple other threads regarding this same issue. I had mine fixed at Riverside Infiniti a couple months ago and I haven't heard it since. You may need proof though. If it's not happening consistently, then I recommend taking a video of it when it occurs like I did, just in case you can't regenerate the problem during a test drive. The video definitely helped me prove my case.
My car was fine before I got into an accident. I got everything fixed up, but ever since I got it from the body shop I started getting this noise. Sounds like a loose part, and it's driving me crazy!

Sorry to bring this thread back up but I'm having the same issue in my front dash driver side. I'm scared to bring it in though b/c I took the center console apart to modify something....would they need to ever do that to replace the dash?

May be coming from the cowling under the windshield. You can test by opening the hood and pressing down hard on the edges of the cowl to see if you can replicate the noise. Search for windshield popping noise
This may be the gauge cluster lid cover peeling up by the buttons (gauge illumination and trip computer buttons).
Like in the windshield popping thread spray silicone lube (can get at home depot) along the outer windshield cowl (where the glass meets the hard black line, there is a pic on the windshield popping thread). This got rid of my pops and creaks. I thought the creaks were coming from the gauge cluster too but it was actually connected to the windshield cowl issue. Try it, even if it doesn't work the lube is just 3 bucks so it's worth a shot.
I bought my '10 G37xS in May 2010 and I started hearing this sometime in September/October. I would describe the noise as "rubber on rubber" rubbing and creaking, similar to the description of Styrofoam creaking noise. It's definitely not the "popping" noise that others have reported, so I doubt it's the window cowling issue.
I've tried locating the source while driving and as best as I can place it, it's coming from near the base of the window right in the middle of the steering column, above the dashboard gauges. This seems to be the same spot as the one noticed by TheGspot37s It seems to happen when it's colder and when I go over bumps. And while not loud, it's annoying as hell and is the only thing that is not "perfect" about the car. (Someone suggested moving the dash up and down to replicate the noise and then hold the glass over the gauges to stop the nose, but I haven't tried it yet.) I place my iPhone in this location and recorded about 1-2 minutes worth of sound because I'm taking my car in for it's 6-month check-up in a few days. I plan to take the service guy on a drive with me so he can hear the sound as well, and I've also printed out some of the postings and TSB that someone referenced (ITB02028A). I've already requested a loaner just in case the dealer (Passport Infiniti) can't fix the problem that same day.
I'll also ask about any dash recall, and report back.
Update: 1/24/2011
The squeaking sound is gone! Although it took the dealer 1.5 days to find the problem, I was told that a clamp located below the window cowling had gotten loose. They applied an adhesive to keep the clamp for becoming loose in the future. They had looked for the noise in the dashboard but that wasn't the cause.

That's why you never keep a car that's been in an accident. Sucks though... if you can afford it, I'd just trade it in.
