Unhappy Very Bad Luck

I seem to be on a roll with my new G and bad luck. First, I cracked the windshield around 1000 miles and had that replaced by the dealer (cash, no windshield ins).

Now, I appear to be the victim of (random?) vandalism. Someone has squirted some sort of glue in between the crease on the passenger door handle. The door handle functions fine luckily, but the adhesive substance remains.

Is there anything I can do to get this stuff off my brand new car?

I can't tell what it's made of, but try cleaning it off with rubbing alcohol first and see if that works.

Hey, you want bad luck, how about someone's window exploding on to your car at freeway speeds.

Thanks for the help. I tried that and though it worked somewhat, I could not remove all of it. In fact, some pieces that were removed took tiny chips of paint with them.

I guess my next steps are to call a body shop. I feel terrible about all this because it's the first new car I've bought for myself (always have purchased used).

just spend the $30 or so bucks and get a new escutcheon (cover for the handle end). it comes pre-painted and takes 30 seconds to put on.

Not too sure about Goo Gone, or at least don't leave it on the paint for an extended period of time. There was a thread regarding it causing discoloration on the paint.

Thanks, had to look up that word. New one for me. That sounds a lot cheaper than what a body shop would probably charge.

Interesting. I think I may give it a shot.

In addition, is it possible the stuff may come off with a buffer? I've been thinking that may get it off the metal door part. The escutcheon(thanks speedracer!) appears to be plastic and cheap to replace, but I'm mainly now worried about what is on the actual door.

Where would you order this from? Dealership? Is there a good place to order OEM Infiniti stuff online?

Bit late, but here's a pic of the driveway showing the Cobra. Do you want it? It's for sale now!
