MR Clean Autodry

LOL Don't laugh.

I have this at home, and was wondering what you thought about using it without the soap, but just for wetting, rinsing, and sheeting the car so I don't have to dry it all over myself?

I ordered all the stuff from DI and it just dawned on me that I had this in the garage someplace.

It should work but maybe not as well without their soap. I had an extra one my brother in law gave me so I experimented with it. He was going to throw it away anyways so I figured I'd see what would happen if I put regular car soap in it.

Well it ended up not spraying out of the nozzles. For some reason the soap that comes with the Mr. Clean Autodry sheets off really well upon rinsing. I'm sure you could soap it regularly and then rinse it with the spot free rinse.

The only problem I have with it is that the filter gets used up too quickly. It says around 10 washes but it depends on how much water you use in the first place. What sucks is when you've finished spot free rinsing your car, only to find spots because the filter was already used up

LOL no, I just mean use the Mr Clean as the autodry part for lets say rinsing the car off and the sheeting of water down the car. Going to use all the DI stuff. guess the MR clean would be the nozzle so to speak. Is there a better nozzle for sheeting? Unless you all think hand drying is better?

I use to use it and the damn filters are a pain in the a@$. I use to change my filters every other wash and it just got to be to much $$. Easier to just dry by hand. Its DEionized water and its awesome the the price is not

Tried it twice; it's terrible. It leaves hard spots everywhere especially on the windows.

Try it

I started using it last year and have not had an issue. The inital filter cartridge is only half the size of the replacement filter cartridge, so the replacements last longer - I think that I get at least 6 washes. I keep it in bypass using tap water for the washing and when ready to rinse, I put it inline. You need decent water pressure to get a good rinse
