Removing tree/bug gunk after not washing all winter

So I've really neglected my G. Like didn't wash it but once over the entire fall/winter season and it shows badly now that I gave it a bath. I think it's magnified since I moved down to the beach as well.

There seems to be little under 1mm brown/black/rust pop marks, highly concentrated on the rear trunk/bumper but also other spots on the car. What can I use to try and get it off. I gave it a GOOD wash 2/3x over and it didn't seem to break any of it down.

Sorry G. Just had a really busy winter starting a new job and moving. I'll try to post up some pics but any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

-Steve

Pictures would help. If it's tree sap and bug guts, you are kind of screwed. Bug guts etch through this paint quickly if not removed right away, bird poo is even worse.

I use this for bugs: Bug Squash

I spent a few hours last weekend working on the same spots that you're describing on my 08 IP. I've often used claybar and speedshine and worked in 6inch by 6inch sections until the imperfections in the paint had disappeared. Then I gave the car a nice quick polish with an orbital buffer and a nice polishing liquid, then applied a nice coat of wax....notice I'm using the word "nice" alot?? That's because you need to be alot nicer to your prize G37 and keep it clean on a regular basis so you don't have such heavy buildup.
I've also had good luck using Meguires NXT wax and a clean towel and worked on the same spots. You really need to almost saturate the towel in small sections and work diligently just like you would with the claybar and speed shine. Make sure you're frequently changing to a fresh area of the towel. It takes some work, but they will all disappear right before your very eyes and before you know it all that guilt from not washing and waxing your car all winter will vanish and you will have a beautiful G37 again!!

Thanks all. Here is a pic. It's the little black marks. The yellow stuff is pollen and just wipes off, it's that time of year here.

Your first steps are to wash and use the clay bar. It may take a bit of extra effort as G35Cfrenzy mentioned. When you are finished claying the surface is should feel super silky smooth. If it doesn't, give it another pass. Use plenty of lube.

If that doesn't remove all the visible contaminants, then machine polishing is in order.

^ Agree! Claybar is your first step. Maxi, I'm just outside of Atlanta. Let me know if you want me to take a look. I'll be close to downtown tomorrow evening (around 5 at the Varsity meet).

Blackjack if I was still in ATL I would totally have you just knock it out. Unfortunately I've moved to SC and that's a bit of a ride for a detail. Thanks for the offer though!

Ahhhh.. Gotcha! Well as BB and I said, pick up some claybar and try that. I'm pretty sure it should get it out. If it feels "tacky" you may need some bug/tar/tree sap remover as BB linked you to.
