ashes on paint

This may sound like a stupid question but I live in So Cal. And there are some fires going on around here. Every time I park In a lot and come outside there is ash on the car... Is this bad for the paint?

Thanks

Just ashes (as long as they aren't hot) should be fine. However, they can be acidic and I would not let them get wet and sit on there (especially from morning dew or something). I would wash them off right away - maybe get a car cover...
