Stainless Steel tips getting Stained

I've asked this question before and gotten some help but now things are much worse. My SS tips on my Tanabe exhaust are starting to look pretty bad. and i do what i can to keep them clean and take care of them. I wash them with car soap everytime i clean the car, and between washes i wipe them off or use a metal polish like eagle one never dull. It cleans them well but they seem to be getting more and more stained. I dont know what to do. Here are some iphone pics if it helps.

Now on our Baja Speed boat with SS tips I've used muratic acid before to clean them up and it worked really well, but i'm skeptical about useing it on these. Is there any kind of more abrasive polish or something I can use?

Hmm... I've heard people mention that stuff before. I guess I'll have to order some and give it a try. Now if it does work, is there anything i can do to keep it from coming back? Can i use a wax or something on the tips to help protect them, or do they make something to protect from stuff like this?

Keeping them clean and washing them each time with each was is your best solution. Unfortunately with the heat, the carbon will bake on.

You should also pick up some P21S Metal Polishing Soap for those regular washes.

Inbetween cleaning try using poorboys wheel sealant. I find it helps a lot between cleaning sessions and the baked on crap doesn't stick on as easily. It makes it much easier between washes. Apply two coats if you can.

Cheers,
Nick
