Dan I am in the Baltimore area I need a good detailer.. are you dan from dan's detail? or is this just a coincidence cause if you are we need to do business.. if you are not.. then I still need a good detailer..

The swirls may not be visible even when shining lights on the paint. Wipe the paint down with alcohol, then look at the paint under the lights.

Dont do that. Dont wash ur car with a detailing kit. I suggest you learn proper technique for washing a car. When you use a quick detail pray on dirty paint all you are really doing is driving those dirt particles into the clear coat.

No, I didn't mean to polish the car every time you wash it, I meant after you have polished it to wash and dry it properly every time. Polish only when needed. If you're taking care of your car properly when washing and drying, you should only have to polish it maybe 2 or 3 times a year at most.

If your car is really dirty, using a detail spray and MF is inducing swirls. I only wipe with detail spray when it's very clean with just a very light layer of fine dust or fingerprints, etc. I also wipe with detail spray to quickly get bird droppings before they etch the paint when possible but then wash it thoroughly ASAP. Even then you can possibly put swirls in our soft clear coat.

Here's how you shold be washing and drying your car.

Yep there sure is. Like BB already mentioned, keeping the paint on your G swirl free is vastly all in your washing techniques. If you have proper washing habits than you are way ahead of the game in keeping swirls out of your paint. And when/if you do incur paint imperfections, that is when polishing comes in to remove them.
