Waterspots on Paint

I got some stubborn waterspots on my paint. I have tried, claybar and light polish with no result. Since I know I would an orbital polisher to take the waterspots out, I went to a detailing place. The Manager there told me that he can take it out and seeing that the car was brand new (<3months old), he suggested taking it to the dealership to see if they can take detail the car for free.

Do you think this can happen? if so, would I want the dealership detailing my car?

Also, do you know any good detailing shops in Long Beach and Cerritos area?

I wouldn't take my G to the stealership... last time I took it back for a detail it came out with a bunch of swirls... so much for a detail.

Agreed... Do not take it to the stealership unless you want more problems.

+1.

I never even let the dealer wash my car when i take it in for service. It's just not worth it for you.. because they don't have the attention to detail as do professional third party detailers do.

For my G35, i took delivery of it with swirl marks, because they do that pre-delivery clean up wash thing... that sucked.

You best bet to get those waterspots out is to contact a professional detailer in your area.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, my original thought was to go to a detailer not long after I bought the car. I do this to most of my new cars, since dealer "prep" means adding swirls to factory fresh paint.

Yea, I would contact a good local detailer that you may know or contact Detailed Image (www.DetailedImage.com or PM a message to them through the forums) and they will tell you what they recommend using to get rid of those water marks.

Try using vinegar and let it soak on the area for a few minutes. If not, you will need to polish it out with an orbital or rotary. good luck
