First timer engine bay detail
This is the first time I have ever really detailed my engine bay. I've sprayed a little degreaser and wiped a few things down on cars before, but this is my first attempt at really cleaning everything up making it look nice. What do you think?
I used:
I used:
- 303 Cleaner sprayed on just about everything (including hood liner)
- Set for 5 minutes
- Brushed wrinkled part of intake hoses with soft bristled brush
- Gently sprayed everything down with a hose
- Wipe down with MF cloth
- 303 Protectant on everything plastic, vinyl, and rubber
- EX sealant with Carnuba on painted surfaces (shock towers and under hood)

Thanks all for the compliments. I guess I should have posted "before" photos to show the huge difference. I have over 22K on Betty and have driven in some muddy and dusty conditions and my engine bay showed it. It looks like it should be in a showroom now with the hood up and she's happy.

Thanks for your post Black Betty! Your engine bay looks great.
I do my corvette's engine bay similar to what you descibe. One more thing I'd like to suggest. After soaking the engine bay with cleaner/degreaser and before you turn the water hose on, start your engine. With the engine running, carefully spray water on the engine. The reason for doing this, is if your engine begins to sputter, you can quickly move the hose away.
Its a trick I picked up from Adams Polishes
