How to clean microfiber towels?

Ok, so I have a stack of microfiber that's been used quite a bit since my last detail...

I dropped a few on the ground and it has grass/dirt embedded in the microfiber, and I'm not sure if I got it all out just by visual inspection and picking at it.

How do you guys wash/dry these microfibers to make sure all the dirt is out? I don't want to scratch the clearcoat on my next detail.

Thanks!

Personally if they're all gooed up with wax and detailing polish I'd just throw em away. They're too inexpensive to even bother cleaning.

I washed a set in the laundry and they never worked as well after, although it was only noticeable on windows. I bought a new pack last weekend and it made a big difference no the windows. I'm not sure there is a good way to wash them, as the detergent seems to alter the performance.

I just wash mine (in the washing machine) every time I use them and have no problems.

I soaked mine for a couple of hours in water along with the sheepskin mitts that still had car wash soap on them. Then I scrubbed them a little bit and tossed them in the dryer on tumbling/delicate cycle. I'll find out how they turn out in a couple of hours!

It'll either be:

Yeah I just took mine out of the dryer (after washed it in detergent)...

It appears the higher quality microfibers did ok after the wash and dry, but the cheaper pep-boys ones I have didn't fare very well... they feel rougher then I remembered them.

Maybe the the detail pros on this forum can help us out.
