I just got my car detailed... bad job... (posted in another thread) long story short...they ended up having to wash it again because they screwed up somehow. I wasted my money and got a deep scratch along my car. (btw.... does washing it again remove the wax and polish ...therefore negating the treatment?) And I have to bring it into the dealership tomorrow to fix a tire problem... can't wait to see what it going to happen to my baby tomorrow.

I try to take real good care of everything I own... whether its a pair of Louboutins or a Balenciaga handbag... and especially my G.... but it seems like the more careful and paranoid I am about something the greater the chance that something bad is going to happen to it. Why?

This is why buying a black G37 left my mind. I take my car to the gas station automated car wash where it meets he!!, no scratches, swirls, i use old towels sitting around in my garage and paper towels from gas station to dry. Still no swirls, scratches, anything, I even ask for a car wash everytime i take it in for a service. Don't think I would ever be able to do that with a g37.. dammit.

I dismissed the detailer and complained to my sales person and the service mgr. Both apologized and asked me what I wanted them to do. They didn't have any ideas. What I want is it to be fixed, but can it? Once these damn marks are there, is it possible to get rid of them? I'm afraid of putting a buffer on the whole car, for fear of what that might do....anyone been successful with getting these marks removed? I need ideas please. I told them I'd get back to them after I did some looking around

I spent a weekend with my car and hand polished the heck out of it. I did get the scratches out

Dealer has had a few meetings with the car wash team over the deal. Seems they took me seriously and are making changes. They offered to do whatever it took to make me happy. Me being a reasonable guy I asked em for a set of all weather mats and we'd call it good. Got the mats. I'm much relieved and pleased with how they responded.

Follow up to my post from a year ago. My efforts then to remove the dealer caused damage ended up just hiding the scratches. After a few washes the polish I used eventually washed/wore off revealing the damage once more. A few weeks ago I purchased the Menzerna Polishing kit from properautocare.com. After using the porter cable polishing machine and the Menzerna products, I'm please to say that I was able to buff out those scratches and a bunch more that have appeared in the soft clear coat, and ended up with an amazing shine. Took me the better part of an entire weekend, but it was worth it. I don't have any before pics, but here are after shots.
