How much for a detail?
seems like many of us have similar questions with regards to pricing. im personally new to this whole detailing gig since i've always done my own cars.
what are standard rates versus top end and what are the differnces?
what are the top brands and low end and what makes the top brands so good?
thanks guys! And if you have any other questions just post it up.

is it the level of detail? supplies or even type of car?
for a G37.. what you charge and what would you do?
when you get a car detailed -does that include cleaning the rugs and treating the leather as well?
thanks guys! this is really a big help.

The price I charge is based on two things. The first thing is what type of work the customer needs/wants done. For example, does their car need a single step compounding or a two step compounding? Do they only want a wash, sealant, and wax? The second thing is the type of vehicle they have. For example, I charge more to do Minivans and SUVs because they are larger vehicles and more work is required. I offer interior detailing as well for an additional price.
when you caharge 150 -what do you do different than when you charge 300?

Every detailer would have their own way of offering their services. While some might include interior by default, I don't think that is the norm at all. From what I have seen, most detailers offer it at an added price.
If you plan on getting your G detailed in the spring, I would recommend getting it clayed, polished if needed, sealed, and then waxed (optional).

Just had my car Washed, clay'd, polished & waxed for $100 (discount because my store is on the 3rd busiest intersection in WA, and they put up a bunch of their signs while working on my car). Paint feels smooth as silk right now. Its ready to face the winter.

Here is a couple of before and after pics of a friend's BO G35C that I did for him.
Before

After
The cost is all relevant to what the customer needs and what they are looking to have done.
Expect a comprehensive swirl and scratch removal to run anywhere from $200 - $400+ for an exterior detail only. A simple wash and wax usually runs between $50 - $100+ depending on what is done and what wax is being used. When we did service, we charged $100 for an interior detail alone or $85 with the purchase of an exterior detail.
Auto detailing is one of the few businesses that you get what you pay for (in most cases). Look for a referral or references before deciding who you go with. Any qualified detailer will be happy to show you pictures of their work or supply you with a few references.
Hope this helps.
